Level select:

Hold 1 + 2 + Start and continuously sweep the D-pad when Tails begins to run in the opening sequence. The sound of a credit being added will confirm correct code entry. Press Start to continue.

Bonus life:

After completing a level with less than 50 rings, run through the turnstile. Stop and jump into the air. Timed correctly, the turnstile should stop spinning while it is off the screen and display an extra life power-up when Sonic lands.

Sonic The Hedgehog 2

Level select:

Note: This code has sensitive timing. Tails will blink his eyes once, then two more times in quick succession. Hold Down/Left + 1 + 2 at the title screen and wait until Tail blinks for the third time. Press Start at exactly that moment, while Tails' eyes are closed. A sound will confirm correct code entry. Use Up or Down to select a level and press 2 to begin game play.

Alternately, hold Down/Left + 1 + 2 during the introduction sequence and keep them held as the title screen is displayed. Release the buttons after the sound of the bells are heard. Press Start to enter the level selection screen.

Alternately, hold Down/Left + Start + 1 + 2 when the Sega logo appears. Keep the buttons held through the intermission when Robotnic picks up Tails and Sonic is chasing them. When the main screen appears and "Press Start" is displayed, keep the buttons held until you hear three chimes. Release the buttons and press Start. The level selection screen will appear.

Level select (European version):

Enter the sound test screen and play tracks 19, 65, 9, and 17 (in order). Press Start to exit the screen. Wait until Sonic and Tails give a "thumbs up" and press 1 + Start, Start.

Hint: More than 9 lives:

Despite what the instruction manual states, you can exceed the maximum number of 9 lives. As you start to build up lives, if the total is over 9, every time you lose an extra life, the screen will still remain at 9. However, as you start to lose lives, the countdown returns to normal.

Sonic Triple Trouble

Level select:

Hold Up and power on the Game Gear. Press Start during the opening screen when Knuckles collects the third gem. The level selection screen will appear after a character has been selected.

Extra options:

Press Up or Down at the Sega logo to access time attack and sound test options.

Sonic Spinball

No gravity:

Enter the options menu and select the "SFX" option. Play sounds 0, 9, 0, 1, 6, 8 (in order). The screen will shake to confirm correct code entry. Press 1 + 2 + Start during game play to enable the code.

Skip to Boss level:

Enter the options menu and select the "SFX" option. Play sounds 0, 2, 1, 5, 6, 6 (in order). The screen will shake to confirm correct code entry. Press 1 + 2 + Start during game play to enable the code.

Sonic-Zilla:

Fast music:

Sonic Blast

Bonus level:

Collect all the Chaos Emeralds during the second act of each zone. Defeat Dr. Robotnik in the Silver Castle Zone's third act. An extra level in which 99 rings must be collected before a final battle with Dr. Robotnik will begin.

Sonic Drift 2

Exit Free Run mode:

Press Start to pause, then hold 1 + 2.

Turbo start:

Hold 2 as soon as the light at the start of the race turns blue.

Better control:

Hold 2 to accelerate, then hold 1 to keep the brakes on. By keeping both buttons pressed, your car will be more controllable in the turns.

Final GP race:

Finish in first place five times in a row in Blue GP mode. The phrase "Go Final" will appear below the Death Egg victory screen to confirm correct trick entry.
